Anglian Flight Centres: earls colne airfield EGSR

Manual: in a nutshell

In the past, flying organisations used to be required to have a "Local Order Book".

This book had to be read by all pilots operating from the club, and contained local rules and procedures associated with the operation of club aircraft.

At Anglian Flight Centres, we believe this is an important document, and have extended it to include club membership rules, and procedures and "how to" instructions for members and pilots.

Anglian Flight Centres Flight Manual

(click here to download) Last updated 25th September 2010.

This document is the "bible" of Anglian Flight Centres.

All flying members and pilots are required to read this document.

In it, you will find club rules on membership, and operating procedures required for pilots and students hiring Anglian Flight Centres aircraft.

Have you ever wondered what instructors base their decisions on when considering if the weather or visibility is good enough to sign you (either student pilot or fully fledged PPL) out for a flight?

Do you know where to find out what defects are acceptable on an aircraft to allow you to still fly?

All of these answers and much more are contained in the Anglian Flight Centres Flight Manual.

Owner-operators of aircraft based at the airfield are also required to acknowledge they have read the manual since it also covers airfield operations and limitations.

Quite simply; this manual is for everyone to read.

Because we believe in safety, and to make sure everyone understands the rules and regulations, we require you to acknowledge you have read and understood the manual. This can be done in two ways;

  1. Copy the form contained within the manual and post or fax it to Anglian Flight Centres (contact details are here)
  2. After reading the manual, complete the form below and press the submit button.

Your name and declared date of reading will be added to the back of the manual so you have an easy way of seeing when you last read it and made the declaration.

You are required to re-read the document every year (minimum). If the document is changed within that period, you will be notified, and using the change history at the front of the manual, you will easily be able to update yourself on the changed sections.

It is your responsibility to ensure your understanding of the manual is up to date. It is easy for us to find out if you are!

Comments, corrections and suggestions on the manual are welcome. Please direct these to the Anglian Flight Centres email address detailed here.
